Hand-Building in Clay

Saturday 9:30 – 11:30am
Tuesday 12:30 - 2:30pm or 5:30 - 7:30pm

Friday 5:30-7:30pm
This class is great for beginners and younger clay students. It teaches us how the clay works and trains our hands for the future work on the wheel. We explore the basics of hand building with clay, from pinch pots, coil pots, all the way to shaping slabs. As you work with clay you will learn how to create your ideas from the ground up. Texture, form, and rhythm, will be explored as you build functional and/or decorative work in this session. These techniques can be used to add to your wheel thrown ideas later in your practice.
*Clay, glazing Materials and basic tools are included in class price.
You must use your 4 classes within a 6 week time frame from your start date.

Classes are small and students stay as long as they wish to learn.We are a tight community here so that classes do a have a waiting list.
